Living & Residence Life
Appalachian's 18 residence halls house over 4,700 students. The halls vary in size and style, with accommodations ranging from double rooms to suites and apartments. Most halls provide study rooms, lounges, and some halls even have kitchenettes. Appalachian's Mountaineer Apartments are designed for married students, single parents, and nontraditional students.
Except for married students and students living with parents or a guardian, all freshmen are required to live in university housing. This is hardly a burden, since students themselves give campus housing high marks.
